Due to the high tangential velocity generated by the high-speed rotation of the rotor and the strong kinetic energy brought by the high-frequency mechanical action, the material can be stably in the narrow gap between the stator and the rotor, and can be subjected to strong mechanical and hydraulic shear, centrifugal extrusion, Liquid layer friction, impact tearing and turbulence. Under the joint action of the corresponding mature technology and the right amount of additives, the immiscible solid phase, liquid phase and gas phase are uniformly and finely dispersed and emulsified instantly, and stable and good products are obtained through high-frequency circulation.
Colloidal mill is a high shear emulsification equipment, its main components are rotor and stator. Rotor speed up to 1000-20000 r/min. The line speed is high, which can quickly crush liquid, solid or colloid into particles and mix evenly. When working, the liquid passes through the gap between the stator and the rotor, and the width of the gap can be adjusted. The stator and rotor surfaces may be smooth or have horizontal or vertical twill. Since the flower-like process of high shear stress may raise the temperature from 0°C to 50°C, external cooling is required. And the particle size obtained is very uniform. The efficiency of the colloid mill is related to the viscosity of the emulsion. The higher the viscosity, the slower the discharge.
High-pressure homogenizer and ultrasonic emulsifying machine not only have high energy consumption, but also have relatively poor mixing function, and the uniformity of emulsified products is not ideal.

The preparation process in the laboratory and the actual production process in the factory are not exactly the same. For example, the emulsification process in the laboratory generally does not have a vacuum pumping link, and the actual production equipment has a vacuum equipment, so there is a vacuum emulsification link, and the appearance of the prepared emulsion is very different. The same formula can be successfully produced on one set of equipment, but it may be difficult to complete the production with another set of different production equipment. The volume of emulsifying equipment, stirring slurry, rotating speed, processing capacity and power of homogenizer will directly affect the quality and stability of emulsion. Therefore, when the established formula is transferred from the laboratory to the factory for mass production or the production equipment is replaced, the production process needs to be reformulated through strict pilot experiments.
